Jesse Goldfine is the founder of Goldfine Law and has been practicing real estate and business law for more than 25 years. He is widely recognized for providing practical, outcome-oriented counsel to individuals, businesses, developers, lenders, and property owners throughout Vermont.
Jesse began his legal career at Choate, Hall & Stewart in Boston, where he developed a strong foundation in sophisticated real estate and business transactions. In 2003, he relocated to Stowe and joined Barr Law Group, where he practiced until 2014. He then co-founded Horsley Lajoie Goldfine, helping to build one of the region’s leading law firms. In 2026, Jesse established Goldfine Law to provide high-quality real estate and business law services to the Stowe community and clients throughout Vermont.
Jesse’s real estate practice encompasses a broad range of commercial and residential matters, including acquisitions and sales, financing transactions, leasing, condominium development and documentation, easement and covenant issues, land use matters, and the resolution of property disputes. He regularly represents buyers, sellers, lenders, developers, landlords, tenants, condominium associations, and property owners in transactions of all sizes and complexity.
His business law practice includes business formation and entity selection, LLC operating agreements, shareholder agreements, asset and stock purchase transactions, contract drafting and negotiation, dispute resolution, and general counsel services for business owners and executives. Jesse is known for helping clients navigate both routine and complex business matters with clear, practical advice tailored to their goals.
Jesse graduated from Providence Country Day School, Franklin & Marshall College, and Boston University School of Law. He is a member of the Vermont Bar Association’s Title Standards Committee, which is the body that writes and revises the standards that determine marketability and insurability of real estate titles. Jesse serves as a guest lecturer at Vermont Law & Graduate School, where he shares his experience with future attorneys and professionals. He also serves as a judge in Vermont Law and Graduate School’s Appellate Advocacy Program.
Deeply rooted in the Stowe community, Jesse has served on the board of directors of the Stowe Land Trust, the Stowe Trails Partnership, and Hope Grows Community Farm Program. He also provides pro bono legal services to numerous local nonprofit organizations and community initiatives.
Jesse is an approved title agent for First American Title Insurance, and has been named a top five title agent in Vermont.
In 2025, Jesse was voted Best Lawyer in Lamoille County by readers of the Stowe Reporter, reflecting the trust and respect he has earned from clients and the broader community.
Jesse lives in Stowe with his wife, children, and herd of animals. Outside the office, he enjoys skiing, mountain biking, and playing music with local bands throughout the region.
